The pandemic highlighted the benefits of being outdoors. We're a place that that's a huge asset for us and our community members. So the opportunities to walk outside to play sports, whether it's our division three sports, or our club teams. We also have trails that run nearby, in the hills nearby, and then also running and biking trails. Several trustees provide philanthropic support over the past year to help us develop a purple trail. Our colors are purple and gold. I go running each morning and that's purple brick road, essentially follow it. Anyway, so good for the soul to be outdoors.
There's lots of places that you can find art museums, art galleries, different farmers market, shopping centers, wonderful restaurants.
We have a lake, Foster Lake, that's a couple miles away near our equestrian center near our Jericho Field Complex. So it's also looks like Walden Pond. So if you enjoy being in the outdoors and fresh air. Popular hangouts in town, if you're a coffee drinker, there's the Terracotta Cafe. We also have a Starbucks on campus, if you'd like to not walk as much, and stay closer to home.
The community is very strong and Alfred and there's a lot of opportunities to get involved in that community, and to be a part of it. I feel like people really do care about one another here and they're looking out for each other's best interest.
